About Us
At Defined Plan Advisors (DPA), we are focused on one thing – making sure you have the best retirement plan possible.
When you're looking for someone to help with your retirement plan, you want someone who listens to you. You want someone who will work with you as a partner to create a meaningful outcome for both your employees and your company. And you want someone you can trust and has your best interest at heart.
You may think that's impossible—but we've done it for so many of our clients already. We know what it's like to be on both sides of the table: we've worked at employers that sponsor retirement plans and for retirement plan service providers prior to DPA, and we bring that wealth of experience to every client interaction.
We know there's no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to retirement plans, so we'll listen closely to your needs and goals, then work together to create a plan that works best for you.
If you're tired of spending valuable time and resources on meeting your fiduciary obligations, we can help.
We're not just another service provider. We're a partner who's committed to helping you meet your fiduciary responsibilities while saving you time and money.

Our Mission
For our plan sponsor clients, our mission is to fit their companies with retirement plans that perform. We know that each plan has unique goals and objectives. As your plan consultant, we will create an ongoing service plan specific to your needs and we will serve as a co-fiduciary to your plan. This means that we commit to putting the interests of your plan and its participants ahead of our own.
For our individual wealth management clients, our mission is to get to know and understand your needs, wants, and long-term goals. We want to help you develop, implement, and monitor a strategy that’s designed to address your individual situation.
Meet our Team
Tim Norris-Buzzini, CRPS®, CPFA™
Principal
Tim Norris-Buzzini founded Defined Plan Advisors in 2007 after fifteen years of experience in the financial services industry. Tim started his career as a financial advisor with a national brokerage firm and then worked several years with a local pension administration firm where he developed corporate retirement plan expertise. The decision to start Defined Plan Advisors in 2007 was based upon a desire to deliver objectively prudent advisory services to clients, completely independent of all providers. In 2008, Defined Plan Advisors partnered with Retirement Plan Advisory Group to leverage the strategies, systems and services offered by one of the largest independent consulting networks in the U.S.
Tim graduated from the University of the Pacific with a B.S. in Business Administration. He holds FINRA Series 7 (General Securities Representative) and Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination) licenses, is an Investment Advisor Representative and maintains the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist® professional designation.
